Understanding an Entrepreneur’s Thoughts and Ways

An entrepreneur is perceived as the person that molds himself into something that makes him a better person through years of experience by embracing risks and becoming victorious in the end. But how does one get into that entrepreneurial mindset? Typically, an entrepreneur would create a plan to guide to make things work. Reaching the goal is not as easy despite going through the plan step by step. Do entrepreneurs easily give up when their plans do not work the first time? Of course not. Although a specific set of principles needs to be followed, it does not always guarantee to achieve the goal. That is why most entrepreneurs continuously assess themselves to determine their personal strengths and use the available resources to reach a goal while responding to unforeseen events.

It is like having a juggling act where you need to weigh down all the possibilities- both positive and negative. But still remain calm, persistent, and hopeful that everything you have in mind will eventually materialize.

How a Parent is Similar to an Entrepreneur in Several Ways

Any parent would agree that running a household is the same as running a company. And some would say that it is likely impossible to win in both situations, but think again. Anyone who has developed a discipline can practically handle both cases…. eventually. And so, they say, “It takes time and experience.”

     1. You never know what will come until it strikes you.

There are a lot of books that claim to help you get through any kind of situation. But, the magnitude of any challenge can only be realized once you are already caught up in that web.

     2. Life is consistently changing.

You should learn to adapt quickly to the ever-changing world, or you’ll be left out and won’t have the faintest idea of how to get on with your life.

     3. Feeling doubtful of your own capabilities.

You learn through experience. And through those experiences, you should be able to strengthen your skills and do your job responsibly.

     4. You had no idea who you would become.

When you were younger, you may never have thought of even having to deal with putting on diapers (as a parent) or being thankful for technology (as an entrepreneur). Your thoughts may be leaning towards a different direction then. What is in front of you now, you learn to just enjoy the ride and reinvent yourself along the way.

     5. You can never be a “know-it-all.”

If you were not the type to ask for others’ help, then being a new parent and an entrepreneur would surely drive you to seek guidance from others. Nothing beats experience. Therefore, asking people to help you with other things that need to be done is essential. Learn to delegate tasks and seek advice from experts.

     6. Life doesn’t come with a map.

You are in charge of your own life. And you may not realize just how it is to be a parent or an entrepreneur until you become one. No training is enough to get you into your goal unless you take some ACTION.

     7. Some plans don’t work out.

Sometimes, even with carefully taking each step, a bump comes along the way that could make you feel like a failure. You can’t make the world revolve around your hands. The best way is to surrender and let go. Just trust that it is part of life and that there may be better things in store for you.

     8. Time is of the essence.

Provide quality time as much as you can. Being a parent, your children will need you to be there. The same goes with running a business. Apart from your presence, you need to focus your attention at every given moment.

     9. It gets easier after the first.

Remember the first time you had your baby or business when you felt lost and alone? You have learned how to cope with different situations, and you stayed ALIVE! Having a second baby or business can make you feel more relaxed.

     10. Choose people with whom you are comfortable.

When you surround yourself with people who have the same interests as you have, you develop a sense of comfort. Wherein you know that there are people with whom you can share all your thoughts and ideas, your trials and tribulations, without the fear of being misunderstood.

     11. Trusting yourself.

Sometimes, you just have a gut feeling of something despite others presenting your attestations.

     12. Your perception of money becomes different.

Money is essential in our everyday lives. However, when you become a parent, you think less of yourself. Your focus is more on the needs of your children. Having quality time with your children has become far more important than money.

As an entrepreneur, your goal is to gain financially. Therefore, you seek every opportunity and treat it as an investment to help your money grow even more.

What complicates the life of an entrepreneur is when he does not focus on a particular area but rather desires to do a lot of things all at the same time. And of course, we know that even multi-tasking may be possible, the quality of the job may be compromised. To become a successful entrepreneur, one needs to be more than having an open mind, but more on perseverance, dedication, and doing good to others that will eventually benefit the company.
