The Number 8

Ever wonder why people are fond of using the Number 8? The number 8 is considered to be a lucky number in Chinese culture because it sounds similar to the word for “prosper” or “wealth” in Chinese. This association with wealth and good fortune has made the number 8 a popular choice in many areas of Chinese life, including business, finance, and real estate. In addition, the number 8 is believed to represent good luck and prosperity, because it has a symmetrical shape, similar to the infinity symbol, which can be viewed as never-ending. In Chinese culture, the number 8 is also associated with the eight immortals and the eight auspicious symbols. The eight immortals are revered figures in Chinese mythology who are said to have supernatural powers and to be able to bring good luck and prosperity. The eight auspicious symbols are items that are believed to bring good luck and protect against evil, these symbols include the lotus flower, the treasure vase, the parasol, and the conch shell. In Chinese culture, the number 8 is also associated with the eight elements of the BaGua, which represents the balance between heaven, earth, and human. In the West, the number 8 is also known to represent balance and harmony, it is considered a powerful and positive number. For these reasons, many people choose to use the number 8 in various aspects of their lives. For example, people often choose phone numbers, license plates, and addresses that include the number 8, and businesses often choose to open on dates that include the number 8.
