‘Tis The Season To Be Jolly

With just a few days away from Christmas, everyone is rushing to do their Christmas shopping for their friends and loved ones. While the season may be the happiest season of all, it also is the time when things can get pretty stressful – at least on the entrepreneur’s part. Knowing that Christmas would mean more revenues for any business, as an entrepreneur, are you ready to take this year’s challenge?

A few months before Christmas, entrepreneurs should already know which products they are supposed to have more in time for the Holiday Season. This enables them to get their stocks at a much cheaper price and it also lessens the burden of having to wait for so long. Above all these, every business should foresee the number of people who might just be walking in and out of their stores, probably 100 times more than the ordinary days. Which is why there should also be additional employees to help man the stores.

Hiring employees in time for Christmas is a good option, especially for those who are looking to find for extra income for the season, as well as, it can also be a good starting ground for those who are found to be truly dedicated to their work.

An Entrepreneur’s Christmas

Being an entrepreneur involves a huge responsibility to the point that some would be missing festive occasions just to be able to make sure that the business runs smoothly as expected. True enough that employees are hired to make things easier for the business, but a real, dedicated entrepreneur will always find time to check on how things are going.

But one thing that entrepreneurs should learn is to know how to balance their personal life with their business. Although all the efforts that these entrepreneurs make are for their family’s sake, still, there is a reason to be just the plain mom, or dad during this season. Remember that kid feel complete when both parents are at home celebrating any festivities together. The business should never be the reason for married couples to fall out nor should they be estranged from their children.

As an entrepreneur, I know how hard it is making everything work out just the way how we want them to be. That is why, there is a need to carefully choose the people that will help us.

Tips on How to Keep Your Sanity

It is almost impossible to ignore your business even for just one day since for sure, something can come up unexpectedly, particular during this season. But, you don’t have to stress yourself just wanting to fly to your office to be able to fix things. Here are a few tips to make your holidays as pleasurable as possible.

  1. Prepare all the things that you need to sell for the holiday season as early as you can. Ensure that all stocks are within the quality standards of the company.
  2. Hire additional employees to help you man the store as customers would be flocking in almost every day even until after Christmas. Expect to have longer working hours. Therefore, you can have three shifts a day to help your employees rather than to burden having to work for long hours, only to find out that they are no longer as productive because of being too tired.
  3. Entrepreneurs are not superheroes, nor are they magicians. No matter if you are among the top entrepreneurs in the country, you also need time to rest and be with your family as much as your employees.
  4. Most people would want to hit the mall on Christmas Day. Although this can also mean additional revenues, you may want to consider taking the time off. Your employees, even if they were paid double, still would miss being with their loved ones.
  5. Your social media presence should not suffer during the holidays. Schedule your posts until such time that you are able to come back to work. This way, you are still able to get in touch with your customers and hopefully, encourage more people to check out your store. Remember how powerful having a virtual presence. And by being constantly seen helps people to remember you often. Don’t forget to make your posts as interesting as possible.
  6. Let your customers know your operating hours during the Holiday Season so that they would be aware when they should be coming to your store. Don’t forget to let them know the days that you are closed.
  7. Some businesses may be sending out their newsletter regularly. This can be a great way to let them know what they should expect from your store this season.
  8. Have your Christmas party at your office instead of renting a place to celebrate it. This lessens the cost, as well as gives your employees more time to enjoy. Ideally, make it during lunch break and keep it internal. Then just give the rest of the day off.
  9. Be thankful for the great year that it has been. Remember to share your blessings to the less fortunate and to give thanks to the people who have helped you. Your business would not have lasted this far without your employees. Give your employees a bonus. Prepare a little something for your loyal customers.

You don’t have to feel overwhelmed during the Christmas Season. All you need to do is be organized and know which ones to prioritize. I know, that just like me, there is always a little child in you when Christmas is approaching and you want every single day to be as memorable as possible especially for your family.

The season is the busiest time of the year and that is something that every entrepreneur should be happy and be thankful for.  But more importantly, it is important not to fail to thank the Lord who has blessed you with what you have.
