Looking Through Various Possibilities in the Current Setting

2020 just swiftly passed by unlike the previous years. We had big plans for this year. Probably some had their “new year’s resolution” written way back October 2019 because they wanted to make sure that they can make their lives better in the coming new year. Who would have thought that all our plans just crumbled when we were faced with a global dilemma and continues to scare us up to this day because there isn’t any cure yet? But, of course, we are all hopeful that this, too shall pass.

Most of us have read countless times how it has been difficult to adjust to the new normal. And for the entrepreneurs, the pandemic has been a huge blow to their business. However, just like how we often come across with challenges, we should not just throw in the towel.

The Huge Business Challenge

Even though how much we would want to get back to how the things were, it is just simply impossible. With all the health protocols that we need to abide to, tweaking our plans for 2020 is surely a must. Entrepreneurs should continuously try to decide how to best position their companies in order to capture the growth opportunities and to avoid, if not, at least reduce the threats presented by COVID19.

  1. Being prepared and to think outside of the box.

Entrepreneurs should be able to realize that he should not assume that whatever techniques or strategies that worked before the pandemic will still continue to work in the future. Despite creating what seems to be a fool-proof business plan, still there will be a need to modify strategies that are appropriate for the current situation.

Imagine starting each day with a clean slate and gather all the information that are necessary and important so that you can be able to lead your company into a path where you would want to be. The aim is perfection, but, we know that there is no such thing. But at least, being aware of the possible negative outcomes should prepare the entrepreneur on how to handle such situations.

Having been doing the same old processes and routines may no longer be viable this time. Thus, find ways on how to respond to the changing needs of your customers and improve your current processes.

  1. Create a road map.

The pandemic is something that has never crossed our mind to happen in our lifetime mainly because we are more focused on building and assuring that we get to have a better life. But the pandemic has indeed brought so much fear. And as an entrepreneur, you should admit your fears and the pressure that goes with it. It can never be easy to just come up with a plan instantly most especially when we fear for the safety of our family.

  1. List questions pertaining to your fear and uncertainties.

You cannot play God during this time of distress. You just can’t make things happen according to your whim because there are so many things to consider. To be on your own, drowning your thoughts with such high emotions will lead you to nowhere. Instead, form a team of experts that will help you to find the answers in order to come up with options.

  1. Stop obsessing over your competitors.

Checking on how your competitors are doing is wasting so much time. Instead of getting envious why they are able to resurrect their business after the lifting of the ECQ, why not focus on the behavior of your customers. There are changes in customer expectations. You can’t imprint in your customers’ minds that they should only have this one thing to offer and that they should be happy with it. Customer experience is a vital part in any kind of business. It will make or break a company. Just think about it this way- no matter how your think you have provided the best product or service, still, customers will feel that there is still something missing. They can be always unsatisfied and that is your cue to inject something unique and outstanding to make them stay.

Expect that there would be failures as you come up with new ideas. But, never be disheartened. Just continue with your experiment until you bump into something that will delight your customers, particularly now, during the pandemic.

  1. Adopt to the new normal.

Successful businesses had to close down when the enhanced community quarantine was implemented. Some may have returned to open their stores, but there has been a need to downsize the employees and the option to become more visible online than to actually receive customers at the stores have been quite a challenge because of having to comply with health protocols. This is truly a sad situation, but, for now, we need to just get by.

Facebook has been quite helpful, particularly to those who have been released from their jobs. Online sellers just became a huge hit these days. And I guess, even if we get back to a pandemic-free life, these online sellers will still be around.

  1. Make decisions quickly.

While it may be too much of a pressure to think of ways on how to rev up your business amid pandemic, always think that what you should come up with should be based on what your customer truly needs and how they would respond to what you can offer. It is best to be constantly in touch with your customers, thus, there is a need to improve your social media presence because through your customers, you can keep your business afloat – with or without COVID19.

Never cease to come up with options and solutions when challenges step in. Turn all of these into growing opportunities for your company.
