8 Business Forecast Tips for 2022

It is always exciting to start the new year with a clean slate. So, why not consider building a new business which can help you and your family for a long time? I know that some of you have thought about making that step but probably have second thoughts on what kind of business to choose.

You may ask, why start a business when the pandemic continuously instills fear amongst us? Apart from the possibility of contracting the virus, the means to put up a business may seem to make it impossible for fear that the company may not even sustain itself for 6 months. But, just think of it this way. Being an entrepreneur involves risks, no matter what the situation may be. It is just a matter of carefully choosing which one will work out and having the right mindset to start and make it work.

Like any aspect of life, you need to work hard to make things happen. The pandemic should not stop you from achieving your goals. Instead of entertaining all those negative thoughts hovering over your mind for so long, try to do some research to drive your business dreams to reality. Always remember, though, that once you have chosen the right business to start, it does not give you an assurance that it will be successful on its own. It will definitely need hard work on your end and loads of patience.

So, here are a few business ideas to help you get started.

  1. Digital marketing services. Even before the pandemic, this business has proven to be a great kind of business – only if you have the proper knowledge to run such a business. Nowadays, entrepreneurs have realized the importance of being virtually present regardless of how small a business is. When most companies have turned to digital marketing, it is a sure way of letting any brand known worldwide. Imagine how small-time businesses such as homecooked meals have become apparent at the height of the pandemic. Initially just sharing their specialties amongst relatives and friends, this kind of business has blossomed. You can offer web development, content writing up, and social media marketing with digital marketing.
  2. Street food business. Street foods are trendy in other countries such as Thailand, Taiwan, and Korea. Similarly, Filipinos have always loved eating street foods. Apart from being inexpensive, it is the fastest way to fill up their tummies when they rush. No matter how many street food carts there are in an area, for sure, people will be flocking to them for as long as the taste is good and the price is affordable. However, you should always ensure that the food you serve is clean to prevent people from getting sick.
  3. Cleaning services. Cleaning services that offer to sanitize and deep cleaning services have been in demand since the pandemic started. We have become more aware now of the importance of our health. And the usual cleaning that we do may not be enough to ensure that our family is safe.
  4. Buy and sell a business. Even in the ’70s, this was already in existence. But it was during the last 10 years, many have probably jumped into this kind of business. Before, it was mostly about selling preloved clothes. Still, nowadays, you can practically sell anything – from gadgets, appliances, furniture to cars. A big booming business sells food products directly from manufacturers and sells them online at market cost.
  5. Baking business. Only now that I realized just how many creative bakers we have in the Philippines. Before, we just relied on popular cake shops to order our cakes and pastries. But now, those who have just seemed to have them as hobbies have turned it into a profitable business.
  6. Water refilling stations. This kind of business continuously strives as more people have become conscious of the quality of water that they consume. It is actually one business that is less likely to fail as long as hygiene is always practiced and excellent customer service is provided. You may say that quite a few in your area have this kind of business. Still, it would be practical to choose a strategic location wherein you can offer this to a nearby office wherein you can be their supplier.
  7. Laundry business. Like the water refilling station, more people have considered having their clothes cleaned via laundry shops. It is a practical way to spend an employee’s day off. They will no longer be enslaved to washing their dirty clothes but will just need to spend about an hour in a laundry shop and get to bring home the clothes clean, dry, and ready to be stored.
  8. Vlogging. If you have the confidence to speak in front of a camera, this is an excellent way to earn money. You may have seen many celebrities have started creating their own YouTube channels. Particularly now that lesser shows and no movies are shown. Instead of not doing anything, they have used their popularity to make exciting content. Some for sure are earning six digits a month. Building the audience may take time. But if your heart is into sharing and wanting to help others learn, this platform may be just right for you.

It is unlikely that the pandemic will end soon despite the rollout of vaccines. Thus, there should be no stopping in achieving your goals in life. However, never jump ahead without knowing what you are getting yourself into. Don’t think of starting a business just for the sake of having one. You don’t want to waste your time and resources and end up being broke altogether.

Here’s hoping that the new year brings you success in your business! Happy New Year To All!
