6 Key Elements Aspiring Entrepreneurs Should Have

Being active with a few learning workshops, I have noticed an increase in attendees. More and more people are thinking of starting their own business either as their primary bread and butter or alongside their careers. And it is so amazing how these aspiring entrepreneurs are getting younger each time.

What have you noticed among the people you see in the malls these days? There are a lot of them carrying their lovable fur babies. Some of them have pet stores, dog daycare, boarding facilities, and even dog cafes. It’s good that the malls are no longer restricting these pets from being inside the malls. Being a dog owner somehow teaches one how to take responsibility and nurture skills that can translate into building strong leadership. Just imagine, while you are loving your pets, it promotes one to adopt such skills, which can be the foundation of your business.

Aim Your Success Through These Attributes

For so many times, I have emphasized that the success of a business comes from different aspects. Having the financial resources is not enough to sustain a business. The most essential factor in developing the skills to strengthen your hold on the company. Whimsical as it may seem, the skills you develop from taking care of your pet are surefire ways to keep your business afloat.

1. Commitment

When you own a dog, you need to give it the necessary time that they need – feeding, bathing, taking time to walk them for a few minutes to provide them with some form of exercise. Giving them time to your pet is like having the commitment to the business that you have started. It cannot wait. There is a need to do action right away when needed.

 2. Caring

When we care for someone or for something, we put value in it. We will try to do anything to ensure that it is always in a good state. With business, our primary focus is going up all the time. And to be 100% sure that we remain focused is to find ways to improve the quality of our products and services and give importance to the people who help us.

3. Understanding

It may not come as a surprise seeing a dog owner talking to his pet. to most dog owners, it is just as soothing as talking to anyone else. Because you feel you can pour your soul out even if you know that you cannot verbally communicate. Translated into business, having the skill to understand others makes it a healthy workplace for your employees. Let’s face it. Not everything you think and want to be implemented may be something that your employees are happy about. When you give a chance for your employees to speak up and voice out what would make their work better, it affects the company’s overall performance. Thus, there is also a positive impact on the company and the general well-being of each employee.

4. Discipline

When you own a dog, you don’t just let him be all to himself without setting some boundaries or limitations. Otherwise, your house would always be in chaos. It goes the same when handling a business. You must have the discipline to do what is right. Do it accordingly and ensure that what you are doing does not go against your company’s standards. Also, giving your employees positive reinforcement allows them to feel that the company truly cares for them and that whatever they do, the company gives them back what they deserve.

5. Patience

Time and time again, your dog will test your patience. No matter how cute and cuddly your dogs are, there are times that they can just get crazy (just like people, sometimes). As a dog owner, you wouldn’t lift a hand on your dog to make it quiet. What you would do is to stay calm and to find ways on how to tame your dog. I business, not everything can work according to how you have planned them. Instead of crying over it and blaming yourself or others for failure, see it as an opportunity to grow as a person and as an entrepreneur.

6. Time Management

There is always the right time to do things. You cannot force-feed your dog with a massive amount of dog food in the morning because you will be home late. You need to check the schedule of vaccinations required by your pet according to what the vet has advised you. You need to provide everything at the right time. As an entrepreneur, for you to ensure that you keep on track, you need to set a timeline on the things you have to do. Learning to take into consideration everything before making steps is essential to make your plans work efficiently.

Therefore, I do encourage you to own a pet. It will not only make your kids happy. You will surely take you to the next level when building your personal or business development.
